Private Medical Insurance

With NHS hospital queues still growing, private medical insurance is an appealing though often expensive buy.

There are many levels of PMI ranging from basic cover providing payment for specialist treatment or hospitalization to luxury cover for services such as dentistry or eye care. At the end of the day what you pay for is what you get and premiums are worked out on the basis of age and the type of cover required. The more you want covered the more you will pay.

PMI provides you with the option of private medical care in addition to the care provided by the National Health Service. It does not however offer the same range of treatments that the NHS does, for example emergency treatment or care for a long term conditions cannot be covered. PMI is purely for straightforward, treatable conditions

When you apply for PMI you will need to complete a medical questionnaire and possibly attend a medical examination.
