Rob raises more than £8,000 for Mind

Newstead Clark’s Managing Director Rob Clark has put his body to the test to raise vital funds for the mental health charity Mind.

The 60-year-old completed The Big Half, a just over 13-mile half marathon around some of London’s most iconic tourist spots, raising a staggering £8,760

Starting at Tower Bridge, Rob passed through the boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Southwark, Lewisham and Greenwich, and finished at Cutty Sark with a final time of 3 hours and 40 minutes.

Rob was raising money for the mental health charity Mind after the tragic loss of his cousin earlier in 2026 to suicide.

“I am overwhelmed by the support and encouragement from so many for this event and I cannot begin to express how grateful I am,” Rob reflected. “This year has been a challenging year for me after the loss of my cousin in tragic circumstances.

“I am hoping that the money raised will go some way to helping people to get the support they need before they reach their crisis point.

“With the cause so personal to me, it helped me throughout the various points of the 13-mile journey that I am very pleased to have completed in just under four hours.”

Through Rob’s fundraising efforts, he raised £4,355 via Newstead Clark colleagues and clients as well as from close family and personal friends.

The business then matched the money raised bringing the total close to almost £9,000 for Mind.

“The emotions I went through as I went over the finish line were relief as much as anything else. I have done things like this before, but the older you get, the more challenging it becomes.

“I had been doing some training which no doubt helped, and I did not find myself as stiff in the days following it as I have done before.

“It is all worth it in the end and I am thrilled at the final amount we have managed to raise and I know what a positive impact it will have. The charity does such brilliant work so it is brilliant to be able to support them.

“For us as a business, I have always felt it is vital to do our bit for charity, and to donate more than £4,000 to the cause is an absolute pleasure.”
